The Easy Weight application is a graphical user interface
for weighting data. It will read your existing data file and give you options on
what type of weighting you want and the variables to use for the weighting, plus
other options to allow you to make the weight of your choice. Then it either 1)
weights back to the original data file or 2) creates a new dataset including the
newly created weight variable.
Easy Weight gives users the ability to:
- Read any data file type supported by the IBM Data Collection
Model
- Choose one or multiple variables to create your weight
- Use Factor, Target, or Rim weighting
- Choose options to create your specific weight, such as min / max
trim options
- Reporter Users - Weight to original dataset only
- Professional/mrStudio Users - Create weight variable and
export to new data file (or original file)
WordCapture is a wonderful SPSS tool for quickly getting
information from a Microsoft Word document into a metadata file (.mdd). The only
downside is that the metadata is often hard to use. That’s where WordCapture Cleaner
comes in. WordCapture Cleaner changes question names, category names, adds key words,
even creates define lists, all with the simple click of a button.
WordCapture Cleaner does this by using Smart Names. WordCapture Cleaner will reassign
the names of categorical responses. Then based on those make define lists, add keywords
and even create an example routing.
WordCapture Cleaner gives users the ability to:
- Rename Questions
- Rename Categorical Responses in one of three ways
- Create define list automatically
- Find special responses and add the Key Words
- Create example routing, and remove the paper routing added
by WordCapture
- Remove large spaces before questions and after responses
- Replace inserts with proper Dimension insert syntax
- Quickly view a summary of the metadata file
Excel is one of the leading formats for viewing and analyzing
table data. The default Excel export component included with Dimensions provides
this capability. However, it applies only limited formatting and can be slow depending
on the number of tables exported. For example, some projects take 30 minutes or
more to export to Excel.
The Verge Excel Export component has been developed to
allow for rich formatting as well as significantly increased performance.
The Verge Excel export gives users the capability to:
Version 1.0 Features
-
Export
100’s of tables in seconds
-
Produce

SPSS Dimensions reporting tools, like Desktop Reporter, can work with complex data
types like categorical questions and grids. However, an SPSS .sav file does
not have the ability to directly work with these types of variables.
SAV Prep is an application which allows users to create rich variable information
for SPSS .sav files, effectively enhancing the data types and the view of the variables
in Desktop Reporter
while still using the SPSS .sav file for respondent data.
SAV Prep gives users the ability to:
- Create categorical variables
- Create categorical grid variables
- Reorder variables
- Hide variables
